I am currently doing my master's degree in Sustainable Energy Technology at TU Delft, Netherlands.

When I wanted to apply to the US, amazingly I did not find any universities there offering this specialized course. Only Europe's got several universities that offer this course.
Even in terms of technology, I think this place is far ahead.

I have been interested in a green job for years and have not been able to find a degree program in this field of study. The State of Florida has a new program and most of their state colleges will be offering a program in it. I will be going to Saint Petersburg College to get a BAS in Sustainability Management. I have researched the different types of jobs and this is more the business side. The technical aspect would only require a certification and that would most likely be in the electrical field. If you are more technical, then that is what you want to do. For me, I want to get in the business side and this is the best way to get in. Arizona State has a bachelors as well, but I want to stay on the east coast. They also have a masters program for it as well.

I wouldn't have agreed more with Mr S C Mathur. As Chief Executive in Gujarat Energy Development Agency ( GEDA ), I had set up a 10 MW Windfarm near Porbadar in Gujarat. While the installation work was done by Danish expert engineers, I had to train local engineers myself. This was way back in 1991-92.

Now that we have all Renewable Energy souceses getting developed, there will be a great demand for training personnel at all levels. I only wish a no of professional organizations / universities take interest in this task at the earliest. As an Elec + Mech + Aeronautical Engineer, at this age of 70 years, I am so keen to help such programmes is Wind, Solar and other R E areas.

Wayne State University and/or other colleges near Detroit should offer courses that would help U.S. automotive manufacturers develop vehicles that use alternative energy, like biofuels, biodiesel, and biogas.

Also, universities and colleges that grant degrees in geology and petroleum engineering should have degrees with specialties in alternative energy and renewable resources. The aim of such education programs would be to help the U.S.A. develop a transportation, fuels & fueling system that would make us independent of foreign oil.

I am an Electrical engineer with 32 years experience in the field of Thermal Generation and Distribution.I am very much excited to know about such a course in alternative energy. In India there is acute shortage of Electricity creating hinderence in industrial growth. Can we start any such course in India?I have good liasioning with Engineering Colleges and can help in starting such a exciting course here. The more awareness created more benificial it will be.

I'm a Senior International Business major at the University of Denver. Upon graduation in June, I'm trying to get into the alternative energy industry for a few years before returning to grad school. I must say, it's really exciting to see programs like this pop up at universities in the U.S. Scandinavian countries have been promoting these kinds of educational programs for almost a decade now. Also, San Juan College in Farmington, New Mexico offers similar training. I've heard that Arizona State offers green energy degrees. Lastly, the Shell Center for Sustainability at Rice University in Houston is geared toward energy issues in public policy. Keep 'em coming! The more Americans we have in this industry, the better.
