I am very interested in developing wireless networks in South Africa and would like the help of anyone who is interested. I have a small team of people that are capable and prepared to be fully committed to the project here in Cape Town but we are unsure of where to find funding.

The Townships are largely completely disconnected from the internet and the rest of society. We have the most expensive telephone rates in the world and the government gives a legal monopoly to Tellcom (the lead telecommunications company) who keep the infrastructure of the internet as their own with gateway prices that render companies that buy them uncompetitive, unfordable and unsatisfactory.

Please help us realize a free communications network

Sincerely, Charles
