SmartPower Slams U.S. Energy Bill

(Washington, DC) Today SmartPower released the following statement voicing their strong disappointment with the US Senate Energy Bill, passed yesterday. While the Senate Energy Bill raised CAFÉ standards and offered a biofuels mandate, it eliminated the requirement for a National Renewable Portfolio Standard, as well as eliminating the production tax credits for renewable energy products. SmartPower is the national, non-profit marketing organization that is leading the creation of a vibrant, voluntary market for clean energy and promoting energy efficiency measures.
This Legislation is Proof of the Need for a Voluntary Market for Clean Energy
“The US Senate’s Energy Bill does not answer the American public’s demand for clean and renewable energy sources, but it does cater to the needs to the Big Oil industry,” stated Brian F.Keane, President of SmartPower. “This legislation proves that there is a strong need for a voluntary marketplace for clean energy. While leadership on this issue may be lacking in Washington, the states, municipalities, corporations, and individuals have all shown strong leadership by creating a vibrant, voluntary market for clean energy. The public understands that clean energy is real, its here, and its working. It is unfortunate that our political leaders don’t share the same vision that the public already understands,” Keane concluded.
In a CBS News/New York Times Poll of April 20-24, 2007, 1,052 adults nationwide were asked, “Is using renewable energy sources to generate electricity mostly a good idea or a bad idea?” A remarkable number of people - 87% - thought that it was a good idea. Further, in that same poll, 75% of the American public were “willing to pay more for electricity if it were generated by renewable sources like solar or wind energy.”

I totally agree with smartpower. it is really to bad that bush has his hand in the oil cookie jar. why do all of the idiots in the world end up in power? america/the world will be MUCH better when bush is no longer in office
December 15th, 2007 at 2:42 pmProcedure of loading batteries of an electrical vehicle by Aeolic system
The recharges of batteries, which supplies energy to the electric motor of a vehicle, will be carried out through an Aeolic System composed by the following elements:
-rotor
-generator,
-controller with load
-rectifier
The vehicle, being left over, will always have some air amount whose speed will be directly propertional to the same speed of the vehicle.
The air will enter in the autobody by the embrasures placed in the frontal part of the vehicle, and it will canalized towards the rotores.
The rotores could be one or more and they will be placed inside the auto body in a way not to hinder the advance of the vehicle creating friction.
The Permanent Magnet Generator (PMG) concurs of extracting the maximum
power by the rotor.
The controller with loads serves to prevent the damaging of the batteries.
The generated current will be “alternating current trifase” (AC) and will be converted from the rectifier in “direct current” (DC).
The generator, the controllers electronics, the rectifier and the batteries will be placed into the vehicle.
The direct current, finally, will be canalized, by a power cable , towards the batteries and it will recharge to them.
It will be also possible to load the batteries when the vehicle is stopped.
This is possible because the wind, investing the car from several points, will be put towards a rotor that will create described energy.
Purposes of the plan and advantages:
* to produce energy to cost 0 and 0 emissions, bringing a remarkable
economic, ecological and social advantage.
* the energy produced in march feeds the same march of the vehicle and there is no need to stop for the refueling.
* development of an innovative system based on rotators and generators placed into the autobody.
