It strikes me that a technology like this might be able to use the already existing surface areas of various structures to capture the energy of the wind. Perhaps new skyscrapers and bridges could include such piezoelectric materials in their design. Along with other technologies this could help reduce or eliminate the buildings drain on the grid.
