The recent explosion in green websites has prompted us to post this survey so we can get an idea of just how many sites are actually green. A few months ago we switched to Pair Networks because of their carbon-nuetral status. While they have always been known for their quality and support services, the decision last year to reduce their carbon footprint to zero has caused a growth in business. What makes a website green?

While there are many smaller hosts that are directly powered by alternative sources like solar and wind power, these companies often struggle to provide a consistent and reliable service. Pair solves this problem by using energy efficient technologies and promoting recycling and other green programs throughout their buildings. To offset their carbon footprint they purchase a company-wide TerraPass so that more money is invested in projects that reduce harmful carbon dioxide emissions around the world.
