I hope germanium can be developed as a laser, you see in Texas we have coal than runs 200 PPM Germanium per ton, with coal, Germanium iron and magnesium are profitable. Texas has more Germanium than China and outer Mongolia combined. one deposit alone has over 120 millions tons of coal which has over 40 million pounds of Germanium, 23 million tons of iron, and 7 million tons of Magnesium so Germanium can be sold for 400 Dollars per kilo, instead of the $ 900 to $ 1,000 dollars the Chinese are charging. I have the assay report, I can send you a sample, I am a field investigator for minerals. signed B R Atkins

I agree with Bob Volk, this could be the way to higher performance arrived the connections to computers and networking at a greater speed, like 100 Mb per second speed.

Light has always been a perfect way to transmit information and data streams. If we can change the processing interfaces to germanium lasers the capabilities are endless. Perfecting this technology will be a quantum leap in computer technology- exciting stuff for sure.
