Actually, people have been harnessing the power of magnets. Permanent DC magnet motors are used in wind turbine systems, and constant research is put into perpetual motion generators that require only starting power input using neodymium magnets.

I love the idea of solar energy, but why hasn't anyone been looking into the energy production capabilities of magnets? Tesla invented a magnetic spinning device long ago that we could take advantage of with our current technologies of rotating generators. But that's off topic, pyramids, yes, pyramids, miniature pyramids stamped along the outside like what that fran fellow was saying, very good idea.

I like frans idea about channel's and the such, has any one come up with a combo solar and Ev panel combo? They both look about the same and take up the same amount or area on the roof. Ev panels out pout is reduced with heat so why not cool it with water or glycol and use it to supply a hot water supply to use however.

heat, cooling, solar

Just a thought that I want to put out there about energy. It has to do with heat exchangers and their surfaces. Why are we still working with flat and round surfaces to control and dissipate energy. Why not a surface that has been stamped or molded into raised squares against a flat surface channeling an exchange media between them for maximum surface area contact. Or two 4x8 sheets of material with pyramid like protrusions interlocking the pyramids with a fluid channeling gape between them.
You can see this would have solar applications too.

respectfully,

Theoretically, every time the photon bounces it loses some of its energy as heat. This would also allow the higher energy wavelengths to be more likely to hit the target wavelength for absorption. Personally, I think a combination of a highly textured surface (think moths eye) and gradient index lenses would yield a fairly good result. Basically, if the surface where stamped to be covered in rounded cones, and an appropriate ion gradient was applied to their surface. It could cause the light to focus/spread in such a way that hardly any light is reflected back out of the unit, but instead bounces around inside the cell until it is absorbed. Combine with this technology, and you could increase the results even further.

Dear All:

It is time we take a new look at the SUN, the savior, the source and the solution to our energy and environment problems.
